Feeling Freedom

I was wondering last night what it would be like to be free from worry.
What creative energy would I unleash?
How much time could I reclaim?
How might I feel with that kind of freedom? That last question hooked me, and I realized that freeing myself from worry isn’t a plan, but a state of mind.

Then I easily imagined what that kind of freedom feels like…..

It’s big, full, deep, delicious breaths.

It’s feeding myself colorfully, artfully—and frequently.

It’s time and space for long, sumptuous walks.

It’s sleeping deeply and soundly, with delicious dreams.

It’s awakening refreshed and alive.

It’s creating with wonder, passion, appreciation, joy, color, and love.

It’s loving with my whole heart, my whole soul, my whole being.

It’s nurturing and appreciating the life around me.

It’s playing, having fun, being silly, and laughing every day.

It’s acting with spontaneity and joy.

It’s savoring every bit of my life.

It’s appreciating everything that has led me here—and all that is urging me on.

It’s being plugged in, tuned in, in the flow, connected.

It’s appreciating where I am and where I’m going….

  1. Carolyn, I’ve been asking myself the exact same thing. I’ve also asked myself what it would feel like to be free from fear, free from stress. I wholeheartedly agree with your list. Time to take steps to put myself in that frame of mind!

    1. I have to say that I did feel this freedom for a moment when I wrote this list, and it felt great. Having said that, I will be referring to it often! It’s a step in the right direction…. Wishing YOU freedom from fear, stress, and worry!
